History

Art Plaza was first founded in Chinatown by Ms. Crystal Chen in 1989. She was at that location for 11 years before moving the school to Brooklyn. She's currently been at Sunset Park, Brooklyn for 19 years.

She was enrolled in the Ballet Academy of Guangzhou when she was just 8 years old. She continued to pursue dance and teaching until she founded Art Plaza.

Mr. Danny Wei, our Dance Director, has been dancing since he was 4. He was admitted to the Shanghai Dance School until he was welcomed to the Hong Kong Academy for the Performing Arts. Then, he was invited to join Purchase University's dance troupe and finished his Master's Degree in Dance and Performance. After years of performance and teaching, he joined Art Plaza in 2003.
